Gifts Fit For A King

What can we bring a king?

This Christmas let’s bring to the foot of a tree gifts fit for a king. Hearts pure as gold, A heart that has passed through the fire and has been cleansed of all impurities. A humble life devoted to the King becomes a fragrant offering of incense to Him one who worships in spirit and in truth. A life of worship that anoints the feet of their savior. A life surrendered to the pressing produces the oil of anointing.

Wise men/women seek Him out and find Him. They bring fragrant offerings, anoint Him with their worship, and bring the purest gift , a heart of gold.

”After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.“

”Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant calamus, 500 shekels of cassia—all according to the sanctuary shekel—and a hin of olive oil. Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil. Then use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law, the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy.“
